For its 2025 edition, Porta Venezia Design District presents No Boundaries Design. To create, one must first question everything. Inspired by the visionary legacy of Eileen Gray, the concept responds to an age where the line between physical and digital dissolves, and the boundaries between art, science, technology, and nature are constantly redrawn. Here, design is an act of radical questioning—a field of tension between what is and what could be.
No Boundaries Design is more than a theme - it is a manifesto. Creation begins with doubt, with the courage to challenge every assumption. Design can no longer be limited to function, material, or form: it is a fluid language, a speculative process that embraces uncertainty. It becomes liquid, porous, dialogical. The true creative act is not merely to construct, but to dare to envision what does not yet exist.
With EverythinK is design, unveiled at Milano Design Week 2024, PVDD celebrates the neighborhood’s spirit of openness and multiplicity, expanding the very idea of design to embrace many disciplines, understood in its widest sense as imagination and creation. The project become a catalyst for the creative energy that flourished in this vibrant context.
The concept is inspired by Paul Rand, the legendary graphic designer who redefined how we understand visual communication. For Rand, design was the bridge between form and content, a practice as boundless and multifaceted as art itself. He left behind a forward-looking and broad-minded vision that welcomed many forms of design, rooted in a simple, universal language—its greatest strength. From this vision, EverythinK is design was born.
By embracing diversity and inclusivity—values deeply embedded in the neighborhood—the new district set out to expand the very meaning of design, understood in its widest sense as imagination and creation. Porta Venezia, a symbol of a city in constant evolution, has long stood out as cosmopolitan, inclusive, and proudly rebellious. L’Altro Distretto is created to celebrate exactly these qualities, shining a spotlight on what makes this area so unique and exceptional.
For two years in a row, Porta Venezia Design District has been home to the Fuorisalone Award’s winning installations: Mission Aldebaran by Maison Marc-Antoine Barrois in 2025, and Re/Creation by Lasvit in 2024.
At the 2025 Fuorisalone Award, Making The Invisible Visible by Google was also honored with the Special Mention for Technology.
