MCM X PET THERAPY
MCM x Pet Therapy: A Celebration of Design, Playfulness & the Unconditional Love for Pets.
Unveiling an immersive new collaboration at Salone del Mobile 2025 where creativity knows no limit.
For Salone del Mobile 2025, MCM and Pet Therapy debut a bold new collaboration centered around a collection of sculptural, pet-friendly poufs shaped like cats and dogs. Crafted in MCM Visetos and durable outdoor fabric, these whimsical yet functional pieces are designed for both humans and their furry companions, redefining the intersection of luxury, design, and play. To celebrate the collection, an immersive installation at the enchanting Giardino delle Arti in Milan will showcase these unique creations, transforming the space into a playful fusion of furniture, art, and joyful companionship.
This immersive installation transforms the Giardino delle Arti into an interactive space where design, imagination, and the love of pets come together in an unexpected dialogue. The collaboration merges MCM’s bold, innovative vision with Pet Therapy’s playful and emotive universe, redefining modern home design with a touch of magic.
Designed by 11-year-old Altea Biagetti in collaboration with Atelier Biagetti, Pet Therapy introduces a fresh approach to home design—where every object becomes an enigma, a game, and a dreamlike exploration of our connection with animals and nature. The MCM x Pet Therapy collection celebrates joy, inclusivity, and craftsmanship, brought to life through playful cartoon-inspired details and illustrated pet characters. Bridging MCM’s avant-garde aesthetic with Pet Therapy’s whimsical and emotional universe, the collaboration pushes the boundaries of modern luxury under the creative direction of Sung-Joo Kim, Chief Visionary Officer (CVO) of MCM.
Thoughtfully crafted to stimulate emotions, memories, and connections, each piece in the collection is designed not just for humans, but also for their beloved furry companions.
Each piece in the MCM x Pet Therapy collection is thoughtfully crafted to offer a sensory experience that stimulates emotions, memories, and connections—not just for humans, but also for their beloved furry companions, embracing the idea of expanding the concept of family and fostering deeper bonds. From soft seats to sculptural design objects and lighting, the collection challenges conventional design boundaries, turning everyday objects into functional, interactive sculptures. This fusion of play, nostalgia, and cutting-edge design reflects both MCM’s pioneering spirit, deeply rooted in cultural heritage yet continuously pushing the boundaries of innovation, and Pet Therapy’s signature dreamy and playful approach.
KEY PIECES INCLUDE:
- Pet-Friendly Soft Seats – Inspired by childhood joy and the comforting presence of pets, these indoor-outdoor pieces redefine luxurious, inclusive seating. Crafted from upcycled MCM materials, their organic forms seamlessly blend into any environment, creating a sense of serenity and play.
- Functional Sculptures & Giant Cats – Playful, oversized cat sculptures from Pet Therapy’s collection serve as seats, decorative objects, and interactive elements designed to spark curiosity and invite moments of play and relaxation.
SET-UP LOCATION: IL GIARDINO DELLE ARTI, MILANO
The MCM x Pet Therapy installation transforms Giardino delle Arti into an open-air dreamscape, where nature and design coexist in harmony and the boundaries between indoors and outdoors are dissolved. With surreal palm tree lights, vibrant textures, and three miniature wooden houses, the space embodies Pet Therapy’s vision of a “home without limits,” where play is not just encouraged, but essential. The three houses in the installation will also host daily activation events, ensuring a fresh and unique experience every day.
EVENT FORMAT: REDEFINING THE FUTURE OF LUXURY & DESIGN
With a deep connection to music, art, and travel, MCM caters to a nomadic, global-minded generation that values both function and aesthetics. This collaboration with Pet Therapy extends MCM’s vision beyond fashion, into the realm of experiential design, reaffirming its commitment to bold storytelling, sustainability, and a seamless dialogue between past, present, and future. The installation is open to the public and can be visited daily from 10:00 – 18:00 at the Giardino. You can sign up at entry or visit www.mcmworldwide.com prior for a skip-the-line ticket into the space. The four displayed pet-friendly poufs will also be available for purchase after the event.
ABOUT
MCM was founded in Germany in 1976 as an alternative to traditional luxury and was considered the “enfant terrible,” creating the ultimate accessories and lifestyle goods for the innovative and unapologetically luxurious lifestyle of Munich’s 1970s scene.
Today, MCM leverages its heritage of cultivated rebellion to develop new expressions of luxury for a new generation of independently-minded consumers. Under the visionary leadership of Sung-Joo Kim, who took over the brand in 2005, MCM continues to evolve with a unique vision, new iconic designs, and a cross-border approach to innovation.
MCM is currently available in 584 stores across 43 countries, including Munich, Berlin, Zurich, London, Paris, New York, L.A., Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Seoul, Tokyo, the Middle East, and other major luxury cities worldwide.
Pet Therapy is a visionary Italian design brand born within Atelier Biagetti and co-created with 11 year old Altea Biagetti. Dedicated to pet lovers and families, the brand transforms everyday spaces into imaginative, interactive environments where design meets playfulness.
Home to giant, dreamlike cat sculptures that double as lamps and seats, shaded by soft palm trees with glowing coconuts, Pet Therapy blurs the boundaries between interior and exterior, function and fantasy. Each piece is a functional sculpture, designed to create a home without limits where play is not just encouraged but becomes an essential and joyful part of daily life.
